About us

We are a club of riders, coaches & officials, passionate about developing training & racing opportunities for track cycling in Scotland & the wider UK. Built on shared values of openness, empathy & hard work.

Our story

Track cycling in Scotland has a proud history over the last 50 years, with some of the world’s best cyclists coming from our small country: from the likes of Eddie Alexander and Graeme Obree; to Sir Chris Hoy, Craig Maclean, and Kate Cullen; all the way up to the more recent successes of Katie Archibald, Callum Skinner, and Jack Carlin.

In late 2018, Glasgow Track Racing Club was formed, with the aim of continuing the success of Scottish track racers at a national & international level. Founded by 5 passionate racers, our aim is to build a training & racing community that’s fun, inclusive, and sustainable. The club is for anyone, regardless of age, ability, or gender.

Since then we’ve gone from strength to strength. Drawing on a base of over 40 members – from beginners all the way to Commonwealth Games champions – we have weekly coached track sessions on Saturday afternoons where riders of all levels can come train & learn the skills of track cycling. We run quarterly training weekends where riders can get more in-depth insight to physiology, psychology, or nutrition from our expert coaches.

In 2023 we’ve gone from strength to strength: organising rounds of the British Track Series, club-made riders featuring on the podium at British & Continental champs, and introducing new riders to track cycling. We have an exciting programme lined up in the leadup to the 2023 UCI World Championships in Glasgow as we look to capitalise and build a lasting legacy for track cycling in Glasgow.
